For family solicitors

A pensions specialist your matrimonial team can rely on

David Patrickson — Chartered and Certified Financial Planner, and one of only 39 Resolution Accredited advisers in the UK — provides the pension analysis behind fair settlements, and the implementation support your clients need after the order.

How a referral works

Send the basics

CE valuations (or we advise what to request), scheme types, both parties’ ages, and the options under discussion. Same-day acknowledgement.

We analyse

Plain-English analysis of sharing vs offsetting vs attachment for this case — what each option is genuinely worth to each party, with the workings shown. Timescales agreed up front; court deadlines treated as hard.

You settle, we implement

After the order, we support the receiving party through implementation — receiving scheme, investment approach, access strategy — so the settlement becomes an actual retirement income.

What your clients can use before they even call

Our free Divorce & Money studio lets a client sketch sharing, offsetting and attachment with rough figures — and generates a written brief they can bring to you. It shortens the first meeting and raises the quality of the questions they ask.

Practicalities

What should we send you with a referral?

The CE (cash equivalent) valuations for each pension, the type of each scheme (defined benefit or defined contribution), both parties’ ages, and the settlement options under discussion. If valuations are not yet obtained we can advise on what to request and from whom.

How quickly do you respond to instructions?

We acknowledge referrals the same working day and agree a timescale for the analysis up front — court timetables are treated as hard deadlines.

Can you support the receiving party after the order is made?

Yes. Implementing a pension sharing order — choosing the receiving scheme, investment approach and access strategy — is often where clients are left without support. We advise the receiving party from order to implementation and beyond.

Are you independent?

Fully independent, FCA regulated (209535), and established in 2002. We advise across the whole market and act only for the client — no product ties, no commission bias.
